Plot:

How the letter didn’t reach Romeo”Unhappy fortune! By my brotherhood, The letter was not nice but full of charge, Of dear import, and the neglecting it May do much danger. Friar John, go hence. Get me an iron crow and bring it straight Unto my cell.”

How the man invited Romeo to the party – if he hadn’t come across the man he wouldn’t have met Juliet – he couldn’t read  “Now I’ll tell you without asking. My master is the great rich Capulet, and if you be not of the house of Montagues, I pray come and crush a cup of wine. Rest you merry!”

Dramatic technique:

How we know Romeo and Juliet will die from the beginning  “A pair of star-crossed lovers take their life,”

How everyone thinks juliet is dead but we know she is not “Ha? Let me see her. Out, alas! She’s cold. Her blood is settled, and her joints are stiff. Life and these lips have long been separated. Death lies on her like an untimely frost Upon the sweetest flower of all the field.”
